March at Belmont County District Library

The 2020 Census Is Here!

If you haven’t already, you’ll soon be receiving an invitation—in your mailbox—to respond to the 2020 Census.

Why the Count Is Conducted

The census counts every person living in the United States once every 10 years. The data is used to provide numerous daily services, products, and support to Belmont County communities. Some of those services include Medicare, Head Start, and highway planning and construction.

The data is also used to reapportion the House of Representatives, determining how many seats each state gets.

Stand Up and Be Counted

Once you receive your census invitation, you can respond online, by telephone, or by mail. You’re welcome to bring your invitation to any Belmont County District Library branch to complete an online response. Our staff is happy to help.
